Lawrence "Souldier" Gibbard started his career with his love for Soul, Reggae R&B, Jazz funk, Funk and a little bit of Jazz at the age of 9 when he bought his first record "Spanish Flea" by Herb Alpert, showin’the way for his taste in music. Since then there has been no stopping him, progressing to being the local DJ for his youth club spinning a Soulful mix of R&B and Ska and with a successful stint at a local radio….. has made him the knowledgeable Reggae, Jazz, Funk, Soul guru he is today. His love for music and alcohol then drew him into the what we now call the classic clubs of that era……Lacy Lady…Spooky Lady…Ilford Palis…Goldmine….Sheffield Arms…..and of course The World Famous Caister Soul Weekenders, having his own show on Solar Radio from August 2004, and he has gained a reputable following for late night Reggae lovers everywhere. Bringing you his own mix of unusual Classic Ska, Roots, Rocksteady, Lovers Rock, Reggae and of course some Funky Soul and a bit of East London thrown in. Souldier is a stalwart of Caister Radio.
